You may Study Engineering With Your Grade Nine Certificate At False Bay TVET College



The education landscape is evolving, and False Bay TVET College is within the forefront, recognizing that the traditional school design isn't the only helpful means of learning. Their NCV programmes are designed for students who would like to start their journey towards a satisfying vocation early on.

CareersPortal.co.za had a chat with the Head of Department for Engineering Studies at False Bay College, about their offering.

False Bay's Engineering NCV programmes are made available at two campuses: Westlake Campus and Khayelitsha Campus. These Engineering programmes are for a three-year length.

Mechanical Engineering
Fitting and Turning
Welding
Motor Mechanics

NCV Engineering Course Entry Prerequisites

These programs start out at NCV level 2 and the least requirement would then be Grade nine certificate with a pass in Arithmetic.

Once the student finishes NCVLevel 2, they'd then have attained a grade 10 certificate. NCV Level 3 would be grade 11 and NCV Level 4 is grade 12.

NCV Level 4 is at the exit level, currently being comparable to a Nationwide Senior Certificate (NSC).

Grade nine is on NQF level 1. Our NCV programmes start NCV level two which is equivalent to an NQF level two.

On which type of scholars are fitted to these programmes, they say that the world is acknowledging that common education is not necessarily the only method of starting to be an artisan or starting to be capable therefore if a student knows from an early age what their interests are, the NCV programme is actually properly fitted to that student.
